Brussels Parks Fill as July Heat Climbs Above 25 Degrees
Brussels residents and visitors are filling parks and terraces this July as temperatures climb above 25 degrees.
How we reported this

July 12 marks the start of peak summer programming across Brussels with extended daylight hours drawing crowds to outdoor sites.
Longer evenings and school holidays have boosted demand for local escapes just as the city marks its busiest tourist month of the year. The pattern mirrors patterns seen in prior summers when visitor numbers at major parks rose by 30 percent between mid-June and late July.
Parks and green spaces
Walkers this week head to the Bois de la Cambre for shaded paths along the lake and boat rentals priced at €6 per half hour. The nearby Parc du Cinquantenaire offers free entry to its gardens and hosts pop-up yoga sessions run by the city’s sports department every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm through August 15.
Cultural stops and markets
The Sablon neighbourhood sees daily antique and food stalls along Place du Grand Sablon where vendors open from 9am to 6pm. At the same time the Atomium runs a seasonal light installation open until 10pm with tickets set at €18 for adults and €9 for children under 12.
City records show average July attendance at these sites reached 85,000 people last year with similar counts already logged in the first week of this month. Prices for guided walking tours organised by Visit Brussels remain fixed at €12 per person with departures listed daily from the Grand Place.
Check the Visit Brussels website or the city app for updated opening times and book terrace spots along Rue Antoine Dansaert in advance to avoid queues during the coming weekend.
