Brussels Hosts Dozens of Markets, Workshops Through Mid-July
Brussels lists dozens of neighbourhood markets, workshops and outdoor sessions running through the third week of July.
How we reported this
The Brussels community events calendar opens the week of 13 July with 47 listed activities across eight districts.
Summer schedules fill quickly after the city council posted the July roster on its public site on 8 July. Residents in central neighbourhoods turn to these listings for low-cost options during peak tourist season when many paid attractions raise prices.
Markets and workshops in Ixelles and Saint-Gilles
Two sessions anchor the list this week. The weekly produce market at Place Flagey in Ixelles runs each Wednesday from 8am to 2pm with stalls from 28 local growers. On Thursday evening the Maison de la Création on Rue de l'Hôtel des Monnaies in Saint-Gilles hosts a free printmaking workshop limited to 25 participants starting at 7pm.
Both venues sit within 800 metres of each other and draw residents from the surrounding blocks who register through the city portal. A third listing points to a Saturday morning yoga class at Parc d'Ixelles limited to 40 spots at a cost of 4 euros per person.
Numbers and next steps
Last July the same calendar recorded 2,340 total sign-ups across all events. This year's listings show 11 activities priced under 5 euros and 19 marked free. Organisers close registration 48 hours before each session.
Residents can view the full roster and book places on the Brussels city website or at any of the 12 municipal libraries. Walk-up spots remain only when cancellations occur.
